The Men's Club Executive members will be in charge of overseeing and running all events put on by the Men's Club.
The Men's Club Executive will be responsible to ensure that the relationship between the Broadmoor's management and the Men's Club is positive and supportive of both sides.
The Men's Club Executive will be responsible for collecting fees and ensuring a balanced budget for each year.
The annual membership fee is determined by the Men's Club Executive prior to the start of registration. Current cost to sign up is $120 ($100 for Senior Men's Club members).
The minimum age to join the Men's Club and play in any Men's Club events will be be 18.
The $10 per week fee (payable in cash to the starter) is mandatory for all participating players on Wednesday nights. The weekly game and payout will be printed on the weekly game sheet which is sent to all members.
There will be a maximum payout each week for all prizes (limit determined by the Men's Club Executive). The Men's Club Executive reserves the right to change the payouts at any time during the year (with a single week's notice).
All concerns and complaints must go to the President by email. Any concerns or complaints other than those addressed to the President will not be considered.
The following are grounds for removal from the Men's Club:
Cheating,
Fighting,
Verbal abuse of Broadmoor staff, starter, rules officials, volunteers, other Men's Club members, Men's Club Executive and/or other non-Men's Club golfers,
Excessive swearing, especially around the starter, pro-shop, clubhouse, driving range or other golfers,
Disorderly conduct (i.e., damaging the course or dangerously throwing clubs),
Disrespect to the course, pro-shop, starter, rules officials, volunteers, Men's Club Executive and/or rules officials, either in-person or via e-mail, telephone, text, or any other social media.
If there is a situation where removal from the Men's Club is considered, the following process will be followed:
The player will receive an email and a phone call with the President.
If the President determines (after the phone call) that the player is in breach of the Men's Club rules, the player will be formally warned via email. This email will contain the formal warning and specify the offending behaviors.
Players will receive at most one warning. Any subsequent breaches will result in a 1 year suspension from the Men's Club. There will be no refunds on the annual membership, Wednesday night or tournaments fee.
If the President and Executive deems the offence is sufficiently serious enough, the player can be permanently banned from the Men's Club without receiving a warning.
All members receive a Golf Canada handicap account, which must be used to track the player's handicap. All players are responsible for entering their own scores (both tournament and weekly) into the Golf Canada system to maintain a valid handicap.
The Men's Club Scorekeeper is responsible for maintaining Men's Club handicaps and determining weekly winners. Once the results have been sent to the pro-shop, all results are final.
The Men's Club Scorekeeper and Executive is not responsible for any errors which occur in scoring or handicaps, either weekly or in tournaments. If an individual member thinks their handicap or scores are incorrect, they are responsible for bringing this to the attention of the Scorekeeper and/or Executive. However, there is no retroactive compensation once the results for the tournament or weekly game are final. The Men's Club does all scoring in good faith and expects members of accept this.
The Men's Club Treasurer is responsible for producing a yearly Income Statement.
The Interclub Captains are responsible for organizing the Broadmoor's Interclub A and B teams.
The Men's Club is responsible for promoting junior golf at the Broadmoor.
An Order of Merit winner will be determined based on weekly and tournament winnings for the calendar year. Note that tournament birdie boards winnings will, as of 2021, no longer count towards the Order of Merit. 50/50, door and draw prizes have never counted towards the Order of Merit.
All tournaments will follow Golf Canada rules.
Wednesday nights will institute local rule E-5 (lost ball option for a two-stroke penalty and dropping a ball to the nearest point on the fairway) for pace of play purposes.
